Many properties have been ascribed to burdock, and it’s one of the most widely used roots in alternative medicine, usually consumed as a tea, tincture or powder supplement. Burdock is a rich source of plant sugars, flavonoids, minerals, tannins and proteins, all of which work together to help soothe and condition skin in cosmetic products. Thanks to its essential oils and lipids content, the woody looking root is equally nourishing in hair and scalp products and can help to reduce sebum production and prevent dandruff. 

A joyful looking sunflower can have up to 2000 seeds, from which one of beauty’s most caring and nourishing ingredients is extracted, sunflower seed oil. Widely used as an all-round culinary oil, sunflower seed oil is an extremely versatile ingredient in cosmetics, with excellent skin-conditioning and antioxidant properties. Sunflower seed oil is light to the touch, with fatty acids that complement the skin’s natural lipids, helping to nourish, care for and maintain skin hydration levels.  

This multi-purpose exfoliating acid is an excellent choice for bright, smooth, firm and hydrated skin. An AHA (alpha hydroxy acid), Lactic Acid works by encouraging skin to shed dead cells and transfering new cells to the surface. It’s already found in the skin’s NMF (Natural Moisturising Factor) which is a whole range of substances vital for keeping skin supple and hydrated. As a larger molecule than Glycolic acid, Lactic acid is generally well tolerated by most skin types.
