Also known as the ‘marigold flower’, calendula is a brightly coloured flower that thrives in the strong Mediterranean sun. The aromatic bloom has always been appreciated for its soothing, calming effects in herbal teas and was often used in topical skin compresses in times gone by. Calendula has an inherent ability to retain water which can help to moisturise and nourish the skin, making the flower an indispensable skin care ingredient.  

For many Swedes, the elderflower’s soft scent is synonymous with summer, perhaps because the aromatic flower grows so abundantly in our mild climate and because we also love its sweet, subtle flavor in teas, cordials and summer desserts. In beauty, the delicate white flowers are packed with skin-nourishing components including minerals, flavonoids, proteins and vitamins, making them a rich yet soothing skin care ingredient.  

Also referred to as ‘Queen of the meadow’, meadowsweet is a herbaceous plant with creamy-white flowers that grow wild throughout Sweden, often flourishing by the banks of streams and rivers. Meadowsweet is great choice for refined, clear and beautiful skin, thanks to a rich profile of skin-nourishing constituents, including lipids, minerals and flavonoids. Meadowsweet offers soothing properties to help rebalance and comfort dull or tired looking skin. The plant also possesses salicylic acid-like derivatives which offer skin-brightening and exfoliating properties.  

Sweet cherry is a wonderfully beneficial cosmetic ingredient, thanks to its revitalising, antioxidant and moisturising properties. The cherry fruit is packed with antioxidant vitamin C, as well as fruit acids that can help to increase cell turnover and promote luminous, glowing skin. Sweet cherry is also rich in plant sugars and vitamins A and B, adding to its moisturising and protective properties, helping to keep your skin feeling soft and healthy.
