City vibes

Cape Town is a bustling metropole, with music spilling out onto the streets wherever you go. Whatever your taste in music, you are bound to discover something fresh and exciting, and it’s easy to get caught up in the city’s vibrant music and arts scene. South African street art emerged in the 1980's at a time when graffiti gave people a platform to express their outrage over the oppressive laws and discrimination against black South Africans. Today, several areas of the city are exploding with exciting street art by both African and foreign artists. In fact, Cape Town has become a modern arts destination in its own right and boasts the world-class Zeitz Museum of Contemporary African Art. The museum occupies the historic Grain Silo complex on the V&A Waterfront, itself a major tourist attraction, with over 80 eateries, 450 shops, museums, ocean activities, and fun experiences to be had.
